"The Guy"

Summary

The Guy is a Conceptualizer for John Reyer Afamasaga’s storytelling crew LMLA-ink. The Girl is his muse, whom he cannot inspire with his work here on planet earth, so he escapes with her to a place not so factual, not dissimilar to a dream—the SenFenide Dimension, where the gravitational pull of ideals, is less weighty, and where he manages to see the entity Ish, the divine being, who actually drew him to her in reality.

The Girl has a dream, in which she is required to become a prostitute. Her action sets the scene for a battle between the wickedly unparalleled Country, and the Guy.

The plot is likened to a parody where the cast takes control of the storyline, dragging it to wherever it suits them when they enter into a scene. Or, like a video game, in which the players reprogram the game as they play it. “The Guy” is not only fast-paced but full of zany and sometimes irreverent humor; its plot twists and turns, yet the reader is never quite lost, but rather left stunned by looking back to where its masterful crafting began.

“The Guy” (first edition) is exclusive to Amazon’s Digital Reader Kindle.

"The Guy" PRESS RELEASE - 28 Feb 2010

etfiction goes on Sale

According to John Reyer, author of “The Guy,” it was part of his business plan —to sell his first eBook in 2010.

Having spoken with John Fontain of John Reyer Afamasaga’s PR firm SKIHIPR, this could not be further from the truth. The passionate Conceptualizer and writer, who created John Lazoo, Polina Rada, and the GUIOPERA, “flies by the seat of his pants, creates at the speed of light, and does business at the speed of thought…”

After numerous free eBooks available at his publishing label etfiction.com, John Reyer’s first offering for money is a coming of age for the stylist and designer whose work by his own admission is hard to categorize, “but if we’re forced to, I’d say, with some luck, hopefully people will say etfiction is Fantasy Sci Fi, Action Romantic Literature, with an uplifting feel, wrapped in morbid mayhem, peppered with sleaze, and touched up with unbridled passion, left to simmer in true love…” Coming of age, in how John Reyer has developed his off-the-cuff prose, and implanted the purple patches over a perfectly crafted storyline, while adding the depth of character-driven insight into a plot-driven book.

The end result is a deep story that runs along the lines of “Guy loses Girl, does his best to regain her trust,” set in a world in which dreams become reality, in a dimension—SFD, likened to the insides of your subconscious.

“The Guy” is made up of two books. In Book 1, John Reyer lays the intricate foundations, in which he sometimes calls on parts of the end-to-end saga, requiring the reader to have read his previous work (John Lazoo, WIPE, BrocoliFlower, Illicit Blade of Grass.) But if you read on, you will find John Reyer Afamasaga’s sensibility overwhelms his inclination completely to take flight without thought, taken by a whim, as he beautifully straightens the story and record in Book 2, when he takes charge of the situation, and wins Ish’s hand.

“The Guy” (first edition) is exclusive to Amazon’s Digital Reader Kindle.
